The Abbey Business and Community Centre (ABC Centre) is a volunteer-driven hub dedicated to strengthening the Village of Abbey and the surrounding Great Sandhills region. Through inclusive artistic, cultural, educational, health, fitness, and recreational opportunities, we bring people of all ages together to learn, connect, and thrive. Guided by community volunteers and a dedicated board, we foster well-being, lifelong learning, and community pride by providing welcoming spaces and programs that enrich rural life.
SWEEP (Saskatoon Wellbeing Employment Enterprise Program) is a Social Enterprise of Quint Development focused on enhancing community safety through the maintenance of public spaces.
SWEEP is a training and employment program for individuals exiting corrections, gangs or who otherwise face barriers to employment. Services focus on ‘Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design’ principles and include graffiti removal, landscaping, cleaning public spaces (garbage, bio-waste, needles), public art maintenance, sidewalk repair, and more.
Build Up Saskatoon – a program of Quint Development Corporation – is a construction Social Enterprise that provides industry-standard residential and commercial contracting services while promoting a diverse and inclusive workforce. Build Up Saskatoon offers steady employment, mentorship, training and other social supports to our multi-barriered employees to aid them towards meaningful, long-term employment in the construction industry, while supporting community economic development in Saskatoon’s core neighbourhood’s.
Build Up’s model is based on the concept that economic opportunity is a central contributor to community safety. By offering opportunity to marginalized individuals exiting the justice system, gang life or other high-risk lifestyles, Build Up offers an alternative path for those who might have no other chance to gain mainstream employment.
